The branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of injury, deformity, and disease by manual and instrumental means is known as surgery. The surgical treatments include- Breast augmentation, liposuction,
eyelid surgery, facelift, nose surgery, tummy tuck, ear correction, mole removal.
Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to increase breast size. During breast augmentation, breast implants are placed under the breast tissue or chest muscles. For some women, breast augmentation is a way to enhance self-image and self-confidence. For others, breast augmentation is a way to reconstruct a breast after surgery for breast cancer or other conditions affecting the breast. Breast augmentation incisions are generally small and made in one of three locations:
• Inframammary: beneath the breast, just above the fold
• Periareolar: along the lower edge of the areola of the breast
• Transaxillary: underneath the arm in the folds of the armpit
Liposuction (lipoplasty) removes problem deposits of fat from specific areas of the body, face or neck. It can be used to contour the thighs and hips, smooth the abdomen, shape the calves or eliminate a double chin. Liposuction uses small incisions made near the treatment area. These incisions are concealed within the body’s natural folds whenever possible. A thin, hollow tube, called a cannula, is then inserted through the incisions and used to break apart and suction out unwanted fat using a vacuum-pressure unit, or in some cases, a hand-held syringe.
Eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty) is most often performed to correct the effects of ageing in the upper and lower eyelids.
Facelift surgery is a cosmetic procedure that involves redirecting some of the skin and muscle tissue of the face and neck to counter signs of aging produced by gravity. Face lift surgery can be performed on an outpatient basis with local anesthetics. There are a number of variations of face lift surgery.
Nose surgery (Rhinoplasty): The term rhinoplasty means “nose molding” or “nose forming.” It refers to a procedure in cosmetic surgery in which the structure of the nose is changed. The change can be made by adding or removing bone or cartilage, grafting tissue from another part of the body, or implanting synthetic material to alter the shape of the nose. If breathing is impaired due to the form of the nose or to an injury, it can often be improved with rhinoplasty.
Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is a surgery of the abdomen in which excess fatty tissue and skin are removed.
Ear correction (otoplasty) is a surgical technique for correcting of auricular deformities.
Mole removal is a cosmetic surgery to remove unwanted moles. These moles are dark spots or irregularities found in the skin, of various shapes and sizes. Moles can appear anywhere on the skin, from the nose and other facial area, as well as arms and chest areas. There can be a single mole, or it may be in groups.
